Plasma Owners: How to stabilize the wall to hang the device?
I recently got a 50 "Plasma Panasonic (TH-50PX60U) with a Sanus flat-screen TV (VMSAs), swivel tilt and pans. The instructions supported by TV, said the wall should be able to handle five times the weight of plasma TVs and the actual weight of the assembly. Is around £ 550. How in the world, I can build my wall for safe handling of that? We live in an old house with plaster walls and I like being above the fireplace. Can you give me any advice? Thanks! Thanks for the comments so far. Just to clarify, we use not from the Fireplace – television would be good at this place!
First, I have serious doubts that the MFG. television to justify the TV if it is blocked in a fireplace. I know you see all these beautiful pictures of televisions over fireplaces, but they can not stand the heat, most have an automatic stop when they reach a certain temperature. The constant of the wall of your house does not have wooden beams, hopefully you do, you must locate the poles and the weight you have to hit about three blocks to support wall and bracket will be bolted to the posts with at least two late 3 screws on each post. Bar on the wall is probably wooden slats in which spread the cast, I've seen situations where the owner has opened the wall to expose the studs and then attached 3 / 4 "plywood cons in posts that could "bolt to distribute the load on studs. The wood can be finished near the wall. Again, carefully consider the MFG. Recommendations fireplaces.
